"My two boys had an amazing time last year. Confidence, fortitude, new adventures, time with the Lord, memories that last a life time, they got all of it at CSM!"

"We love this place. The combination of adventure and faith development is unmatched. Such a special place!"
"I love this place! It's a great atmosphere to be able to enjoy God's nature, to practice and live the faith, and to be in His presence.
Our kids love to go and plan to go next summer. I pray that this becomes a tradition that they carry on to their children."
Father of CSM Campers
Kids open their hearts while they are both away from home and in the unique atmosphere of CSM – and the Holy Spirit is then allowed to get through to them.
Infused into all of our activities is an atmosphere of faith.
Whether it is playing sports, horseback riding, learning to swim, or going on one of our outside camping trips, their time at camp is full of fun!
With the ever-increasing prominence of technology in our day, our mission now includes offering young people a respite in a technology-free zone.
Rooted in Nature
Our campers feel refreshed and experience a sense of wonder as they live more fully in nature – a very different experience from their daily routine.
Friends for Life
Campers live and play with some people they may have never met before.
It is a very common experience for campers to form friendships that will extend over their whole lifetime.
Why Attend Camp Sancta Maria?
Camp Sancta Maria
We are honored to have a role in the process of forming young Christian lives.
Since our founding in 1933, Camp Sancta Maria (CSM) has been offering young people aged 8 to 16 a summer full of fun, personal growth, and spiritual development.
Our 96 acres of wooded landscape in the heart of Northern Lower Michigan and the stunningly beautiful local sites that serve as our destinations for outside trips are the perfect settings for this work and for the close-knit community at CSM.
Boys that don't go to camp will probably...
Miss a key growth opportunity
Play more video games
Be more likely to say "I'm bored..."
How can I communicate with my son?
Campers may receive letters, care packages and emails. If you are sending a letter or package, don’t forget to write your child’s name on it.
Where does your staff come from?
At CSM we are highly selective of our counselors. We make sure they have a formed relationship with our Lord and a moral compass that is Catholic in its orientation. We hire counselors that are navigating life successfully and are good role models. We target young adults whose faith is alive.
Many of our counselors were once campers at CSM themselves. It’s not uncommon for a 20-year old counselor to have been attending CSM for over half of his life. In these cases, we are familiar with the young men and women who apply and know their families very well. Often these counselors have worked for us as counselors-in-training, so we know them from that capacity as well.
Does CSM make provisions for special diets?
CSM serves three nutritious and fun meals each day. We take food allergies very seriously, and our kitchen staff are experienced in preparing delicious and healthy meals for camps with food allergies.
However, we ask that you contact the camp office before you arrive at camp to discuss your child’s dietary needs and any food allergies they may have. This will allow our staff to prepare their menus and food shopping lists accordingly.
Do you have a nurse on staff?
It is as high a priority to us as it is to you that our campers are healthy and safe. Our recently renovated infirmary/health office is operated by a full-time nurse and Red Cross trained staff. Campers have access to the infirmary and its staff 24 hours a day to address any concern they may have. Our infirmary staff dispenses medications at scheduled times.
For emergencies, Otsego Memorial Hospital is located less than 10 minutes away from camp. CSM also partners with the 911 emergency system, providing them with details of our operations. Should emergency procedures ever be necessary, parents would be notified promptly.
"Camp is a home away from home.
It is a place I can be myself."
"Hug after two weeks at CSM....Brady ran towards me and said....'I just had the best two weeks of my life.'"
